What is literature?
a form of art
Literature, generically, is any body of written works. More restrictively, literature refers to writing considered to be an art form or any single writing deemed to have artistic or intellectual value, often due to deploying language in ways that differ from ordinary usage. But we all know that art is something subjective, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Figurative Language & Literary Devices
º º º
Figurative language and literary devices are specific techniques and structures that writers often use to add meaning or create more compelling stories for the reader.
Figurative language is when you use a word or phrase that does not have its normal everyday, literal meaning. Writers can use figurative language to make their work more interesting or more dramatic than literal language which simply states facts.
Meanwhile, literary devices are used under figurative language; they are narrative techniques that add texture, energy, and excitement to the narrative, grip the reader's imagination, and convey information.

This is Kim. I am currently doing my Bachelor of Education (Hons) Teaching English as a Secondary Language(TESL) in UiTM Puncak Alam. This website is created as a part of requirement for the subject TSL 641: Computer Assisted Language Learning. This page is designed to focus on the basics of literature because it is essential to know these things when you're learning literature.
